Polarised C7 Power Cables & Connectors
Posted by Lucas Smith on
We are often asked if we stock C7 Polarised power cables or connectors.
While we do not stock these we do have help and advise to find a solution that may suit your requirements.
What is a Polarised C7 connector? Sometimes called C7P, it is a 2 Pole, asymmetrical connector, with one side squared. Unpolarized C7 connectors can be inserted into the polarized inlets; however, doing so might be a safety risk if the device is designed for polarized power.
The polarized version of the C7 connector is designed to ensure that the live and neutral conductors are connected correctly, enhancing safety.

If you are looking for a Polarised C7 Power cable, you might consider;
- Consider used. Second-hand, charity or opportunity shops often have cartons of miscellaneous power cables and wires. Have a rummage.
- Changing the device socket or hardwiring a power cable into the device. For this, we recommend consulting a registered electrician.
- Post a request on a New Zealand based Facebook group that relates to your device.
- Search on Facebook Marketplace or Trademe.
- If you are wanting to power a device such as a hard disk recorder, a computer engineer may be able to remove the hard drive and access the video data. If the data is important, consider a professional data recovery specialist such as Datalab www.datalab.co.nz
