These 3 Pole 3 Conductor 6.3mm or 1/4 inch are used to connect a range of audio and music equipment including headphones, microphones, electric guitars and amplifiers. The 3 conductors are referred to as a TRS meaning Tip, Ring and Sleeve.
Fun Fact: Developed in 1878, for manually connecting telephone calls it is perhaps the oldest electrical connector standard still in use, to this day is the most prominent plug connector on mainstream musical equipment, especially on standard electric guitars.
