How do I know which model Apple iPhone I have?
Share
From time to time, we have customers ask about adapters and connectors for Apple iPhones. Connectors on the Apple iPhone are continually changing as models evolve.
You can determine your iPhone model using several methods:
1. Check in Settings (Easiest Method)
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to General > About.
- Look for Model Name (e.g., iPhone 13 Pro).
- Below it, you’ll see the Model Number (e.g., MLVP3X/A).
- If it starts with an M or N, it's a retail model.
- If it starts with an F, it's a refurbished unit.
- If it starts with a P, it's a personalized (engraved) model.
To see the actual model number, tap on the Model Number, and it will change to something like A2483.
2. Look at the Back or SIM Tray
- On older iPhones (iPhone 7 and earlier), the model number is printed on the back of the device (small text near the bottom).
- On newer iPhones (iPhone 8 and later), the model number is inside the SIM card tray. Remove the SIM tray and check inside.
3. Check the Model Number Online
Once you have the Axxxx model number (e.g., A2483), visit Apple’s official support page to find out which iPhone you have: 👉 Apple iPhone Model List
4. Check the Box or Receipt
If you still have the original packaging, the Model Name and Model Number are printed on the label.
5. Use Apple's Check Coverage Tool
- Go to Apple's Check Coverage website
- Enter your iPhone’s Serial Number (found in Settings > General > About).
- Apple will display details about your device, including the model.
6. Identify by Physical Features
If you don’t have access to Settings and no box, you can compare your iPhone’s camera layout, screen size, and buttons to Apple's official guide:
